Short Course pricing includes overnight accommodations for 1 horse and 1 rider, and rider dinner each night.
Our short courses are designed to be a “total immersion” educational experience. The short course subject matter is custom tailored to your specific needs. This is the ideal option for riders (or horses) that are interested in making significant progress in a short amount of time, and are fully committed to their betterment as equestrians. This is not the ideal option for a horse that has not been backed yet.
As a participant in our short course program you will be our guest in our 4300 square foot iconic mid-century modern home, custom built for the descendants of John Hancock himself. Enjoy your own guest room with queen sized bed, closet space, and your own 3 piece bathroom with shower. WIFI and 4G cellular service is available. Dinner will be provided every evening of your stay, and you are welcome to join us for dining, cocktails, and great conversation. Breakfast and Lunch are not provided, but you are welcome to use our refrigerator, toaster, and microwave. Please let us know in advance of any dietary restrictions or allergies!
Your horse(s) will be kept in their own private paddock that is visible to the resident horses so as to limit stress. All 3 of our paddocks are spacious (over 2 acres each) with plenty of grass for grazing. Horses are fed twice a day in separate outdoor 8x12’ feed stalls. It is your responsibility to bring your horse’s grain/concentrates, adequate hay, and any supplements for your short course duration. We recommend bringing at least 1 meal extra just in case. Your horse’s meals need to be bagged separately and labeled by meal so as to care for him as accurately as possible.
For all short courses you are encouraged to audit all other training or lessons that may be conducted during your stay as this is part of the experience. You are encouraged to ask questions, but refrain from asking until the end of other’s lessons. We also encourage you to bring a journal to document what you learn during your stay. Be prepared to learn a massive amount in a short period of time!
